Daddy's friends at work surprised him shortly after Lily was born, and while she was still in the NICU, with a lot of newborn-size clothes, toys, and diapers. I work with a great bunch of people, and can't wait for Lily to get to know them. This is one of the onesies from T&F, taken on August 5. Thanks, guys!

First Stroll
We took a lot of pictures on August 5...this is of Lily's first stroll in her stroller around the neighborhood. She slept through the whole thing. She hasn't been on any other such strolls because it's been TOO HOT. But we look forward to showing her the outdoors eventually. Click the photo to find a couple of shots of proud Mom and Dad pushing Lily in her stroller.
Sucking on Finger
Lily won't take a pacifier, but she'll suck your finger off. This was also taken on August 5. She no longer fits in this outfit!
Wide Eyes
I've gotten the chronology messed up - this photo of her big pretty eyes is from August 1.
Tee-Tah's Visit
Ryan's Aunt Tee-Tah and Ronnie dropped by on August 4 to meet Lily. They had come by while Lily was in the hospital but the NICU was closed when they were there. We were glad they finally got to see her! Click on the photo for a couple more photos.

Picking up Her Head
As long ago as August 5, when this photo was taken, Lily was showing amazing progress in head mobility and steadiness. Click on the photo for a few more shots.

Favorite Swaddling Blanket
Lily is really good at getting out of her blankets when we swaddle her. This blanket, though, is magic, and actually contains her squiggliness. Well, except for her arms. Thanks to Aunt Jen for Lily's current favorite blanket.

Pre-Seizure Nap
With a photojournalist's instincts, Daddy was prescient enough to capture images of the restful nap that happened just before Lily's seizure. She may look peaceful, but she's about to scare Mommy and Daddy to death.
Aunt Coco
Aunt Coco came to visit Lily shortly after she got out of the hospital (the first time). This photo was taken on July 24 - Aunt Coco's birthday. Aunt Coco is getting used to sharing her thunder with Lily. Lily was born the night before Aunt Coco got married (to Uncle David). Because of this little surprise, Coco was out a bridesmaid (Carrie) and her brother (Ryan) nearly didn't make the wedding. She has been a wonderful aunt through it all, graciously sharing the limelight and always happy to see her new niece. Lily is very lucky to have an aunt like her.
Grandma Jan's Visit
Grandma Jan came to spend some time with us just as Grand-mère was leaving. She was just in time to go to the hospital with us after Lily had her seizure. She stayed for two weeks until this past Friday, and was a huge help, staying up all night sometimes with Lily so Mommy and Daddy could get some sleep. This photo is of the first time Grandma Jan met Lily out of the hospital.

Grand-mère and Grandma Jan were both wonderful. Grand-mère helped us survive the two weeks in the NICU, and without her to stay and help Carrie when I couldn't be there I don't know what we would have done. Since we were in the hospital most of the time Grand-mère was here, we don't have very many photos of her and Lily to put here. But Grand-mère and Papa Ed are coming back for Labor Day weekend, and we'll take lots of photos then!

Grandma Jewell & Rogers
Still catching up on posting photos - here is Great Grandma Jewell welcoming Lily home on July 23. Jewell and Rogers brought over the most delicious stew, which was awelcome change after all the take-out in the hospital.
